Walking tour: This morning you’ll take an excursion to the Hermitage, one of the most famous museums in the world. The Hermitage has one of the richest collections of paintings and sculpture. The collection was initiated in 1764 by Catherine the Great and currently the museum contains over 3 million of exhibits related to various epochs from Prehistoric times to the Present Day. Main expositions occupy 400 halls. Works by Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Tiziano, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck, El Greco, Poussin, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, A.Matisse are considered real pearls.

The palace-and-park ensemble of Tsarskoye Selo (Tsar’s Village) – a former country residence of Russian emperors – is a fascinating monument of the world’s architecture and gardening of XVIII-XIX centuries. Its three parks occupy the area of 600 ha, each park has over 100 architectural constructions – from magnificent palaces and grand monuments to pavilions and park sculptures. The compositional centre of the Tsarskoselsky ensemble is the Catherine Palace. You will see the famous Amber room, which is almost complete now.
